Volunteer Firefighter
Requirements
At least age 20 at the time of hire. Physically fit to perform the duties assigned. High school graduate or obtained G.E.D. Certifications:
Texas Class B driver's license within 1 year of hire date. Able to dedicate at least 60 hours per month for response to calls, training and station duties.

The City provides Life and disability coverage for all Firefighters through V.F.I.S. and Workers Compensation through T.M.L. Paid outside training after one year. Required duties
Respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls; and perform necessary fire suppression functions, possibly under hazardous conditions. Clean, inspect, and maintain fire apparatus and equipment. Operate fire apparatuses, as needed. Participate in drills and continuing education and training classes. Perform various public relations activities such as conducting presentations on fire safety at schools. Clean and maintain fire station and grounds and perform other related domestic duties while on duty. Participate in fire prevention work through inspections of homes and businesses. Respond to emergency medical calls and perform emergency first aid including basic and advanced life support. Transports sick or injured individuals to hospital.
