The Glenn Heights Fire Department operates one Ambulance that is certified by the State of Texas as Basic Life Support with Mobile Intensive Care Unit capability. This Unit is staffed by one Paramedic and an E.M.T or Paramedic on a 24 hour basis. |

Hospitals
Patients may be transported to the hospital of their choice or the choice of a relative or close friend in the case of an unconscious person within the following guidelines. However, in life or death situations, the EMS personnel’s judgment of hospital destination and the condition of the patient shall have priority over the wishes of the patient.
The following is a list of condition of the patient and the Hospital they will be transported to: Medical Emergencies or minor Injuries Charlton Methodist Baylor Waxahachie Veterans Administration Hospital
Adult Trauma Primary: Methodist Medical Center of Dallas Secondary: Baylor Medical Center of Dallas Third: Parkland Memorial Hospital
Pediatric Trauma & Childhood Medical Emergencies Children’s Medical Center
Burns Parkland Memorial Hospital
Glenn Heights’ ambulance will only transport a patient to one of the following hospitals: Charlton Methodist Hospital Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie Methodist Medical Center of Dallas Baylor Medical Center of Dallas Children’s Medical Center Parkland Memorial Hospital Veterans Administration Hospital
In the event of a disaster or multiple casualty situations, patients will not be given option of hospitals, but will be transported to hospitals according to proximity of the disaster, condition of the patient, and the ability of the hospital to receive patients.

Request for copy of records
A Copy of records may be requested by filling out A “Open Records Request” and submitting it to the City of Glenn Heights. All request for Ambulance run reports and Itemized billing statements must be accompanied by a “HIPAA Compliant Authorization To Disclose Health Information form” or a “Court Order” if not being requested by the Patient or someone with legal authority to request the Patients record (i.e. Power of attorney, Parent of Patient, Spouse, etc.) |
